Hivemind M Gets Bigger: New Boards, 120mm Fan, 3-Slot GPU Support

Hey its Barimah here,

I've been working head down full time on Hivemind M and it is time to share what's new:

New boards Welcome Miniforum DEG 2 and Aoostar EG02!

Hivemind M has been modified to be compatible with the new generation of dual Oculink and TB 5 boards, specifically the Minisforum DEG2 and the Aoostar EG02 increasing our total compatible boards to 6!
Because these boards are almost twice the size of boards like the Razer Core X V2 they are mounted on the bottom and connected via a 150mm PCIe riser. Because of this, these boards will only be compatible with the HDPLEX 500W, whose smaller size allows it to fit within the case.

120mm Fan as standard.

To fit these larger boards inside the case I had to rearrange the internals and mount the HDPLEX 500w on its side. That made the case taller. With this space I figured we might as well go for a full 120mm fan. This has made the cooling overkill in a lot of ways and should help keep the power supplies cooler and quieter and more reliable under load.

3-Slot GPU Compatibility with Flex ATX PSU

With the taller case, the Flex ATX variant can now fit 3-slot GPUs. Maximum Flex ATX PSU length is now 190mm, making this variant ideal for anyone with larger graphics cards who needs more power while the 120mm fan keeps everything cool.

I’m thinking of doing a thermal benchmark video with a 4080 Super using the HDPLEX 500W and both a high-end and low-end Flex ATX PSU. Let me know if this is something you’d like to see!

Next Steps

  • IO shields for each configuration
  • A convenient fan controller mount for boards that don't have a built-in fan control (every non-Razer Board)

Founders Batch & Beyond
The very first Founders Batch will be limited to 10 people in the USA. I’m starting here to make shipping and direct feedback manageable, so I can personally speak with each participant and refine Hivemind M before moving onto the next phase.

All of this is part of getting Hivemind M ready for a future Kickstarter program, so by following along now, you’re seeing the system evolve before it goes public.

Things are moving fast, I'll share more information on the founders batch soon. until then if you have any questions let me know.

Onward and upward,

Barimah
